NOM: “Glorifying the traitors is disgustingâ€
General-Secretary of the Organization, Said Abadou
The National Organization of the Mudjahideen (war veterans) expressed its anger towards the French government, following the embodiment of the Act of February 23, 2005 which glorified the colonization, and announced the establishment of an institution for memorizing “The war of Algeriaâ€, or what is known by “Algerian Revolutionâ€, describing the decision as “disgustingâ€.

The General-Secretary of the Organization, Said Abadou said; “Glorifying the traitors by the past colonizer is a disgusting position”, in a quick response to Paris’s decision to disclose the new measures for the “Harkis” (traitors), despite the adoption of the French Constitutional Council to the unconstitutionality of some articles of the February 23, 2005 decree, which was proposed and sponsored by the rights, led by the current president Nicholas Sarkozy.

The former Minister of the Mudjahidine said, during a historical symposium, commenting on the French resolution; “It did not come to our minds that the French have had the courage to glorify the Harkis (traitors). We, the Mudjhideen are disgusted from this position. I’m surprised with such a decision, because the treason is forsaken by all the peoples, including the French people, which still judge the Marshal Petain, who collaborated with the German Nazis during the WWII, describing him as a traitor. Treason does not have a value among the Algerian people or any other people”.
